Quiz 446

Another
slow one at The Albert last night. We just managed to scrape together six teams. Last night's winners for the fourth week in a row were The Alliance with 92pts, CJD were second with 90pts and Drunks Aloud made up the top three with 81pts. The last couple of days have been quite hectic and I was extremely tired last night but, after a good night's sleep I'm almost back in synch now. I've made a brief start on next week's quiz, all I can tell you at the moment is that the guest round is Pyramid. Right, lots to do so I'd better get on. Remember, any questions, comments or suggestions email me at quizard_97@yahoo.co.uk

Leprechaun's Pot 'O' Gold

Only £18 collected last night which doesn't look good for the end of the month unless we have a couple of good weeks to finish off with. Last night's question was: "To two decimal points, what is the melting point of gold in degrees Celsius?" The answer to which is 1048. 58°C. There were quite a few strange guesses one of which was just above the boiling point of water. In fact, there were only three guesses that were close enough to be in contention and the winner was Frank at the bar with his guess of 1100°C. £9 goes to him and £9 rolls over to next week making our starting pot of £31.50.

Joke of the Day: A South African, an Aussie and a Londoner. (Thanks Aussiegirl)

A South African, an Aussie and a Londoner were sitting in a pub having a pint of beer.

The South African grabs his beer downs it, tosses his glass into the air, draws a handgun and shoots the glass in mid-air. He grins to the other two, puts the gun down on the bar and says

"In Souff Efrika we haf so many glasses we never drink out of the same glass twice".

The Aussie then downs his beer throws his glass into the air, grabs the gun off the bar, shoots the glass, puts the gun back on the bar and proclaims;

"Ay mate, in Oz we have so much sand which makes glass really cheap so we too never drink out of the same glass twice".

The Londoner looks at the two of them, finishes his beer, puts the glass down on the bar, picks up the gun, shoots both the Aussie and the South African and says;

"In London we have so many South Africans and Aussies that we never have to drink with the same one twice.
