quiz 450

Quiz 450

Sorry for the late post but I slept in this morning. I haven't been sleeping well lately and last night it caught up with me. I finally hit "the wall" around 8pm last night and was dog tired by the end of the quiz. In fact, I was halfway into town to get something to eat when I realised I needed sleep more. On getting home I was out like a light and didn't even stir until almost midday. Last night was a bit of a struggle to get through even though we only had five teams. Our joint winners were The Alliance and CJD with 93 points each and third place went to Drunks Aloud with 88 points. Next week is Bank Holiday weekend so I'm expecting a similar turn out but, traditionally the quiz tends to pick up from September through January. No news yet on moving the Christmas quizzes to the Tuesday for two weeks, I need to persuade Kate that this is a better option than having a break for two weeks. maybe you can have a word in her shell-like. Send me an email if you have any questions, comments or suggestions, quizard_97@yahoo.co.uk as always. Thanks Margaret for the email, I found those pictures most amusing.

Leprechaun's Pot 'O' Gold

Although it was a quiet night, Carole still managed to collect £23.00 which was quite good. Last night's question was: What is the length of the River Thames in kilometres? the answer to which is 346 km. The closest guess and winner of £11.50 was Dave H of The Flying Otters with his guess of 340 km. The pot starts next week with £24.50 but I'm not expecting it to increase substantialy though I would like a big fat, juicty total by the end of the month.

Joke of the Day (Thanks Hancock)

One day the teacher decides to play an animal game. She holds up a picture of a giraffe and asks if anyone knows what it is. No one raises his/her hand. The teacher says "See it's long neck?

What animal has a long neck?"

Sally holds up her hand and asks if it is a giraffe.

"Very good Sally," the teacher replies. Next she holds up a picture of a zebra.

None of the students holds up his/her hands. "See the stripes on this animal? What animal has stripes?"

Billy holds up his hand and says it is a zebra. "Very good Billy," the teacher replies.

Next she holds up a picture of a deer. None of the students recognized the animal.

"See the big antlers on this animal. What animal has horns like this?"

Still no one guesses. "Let me give you another hint, it's something your mother calls your father."

Johnny shouts out "I know what it is, it's a horny b*st*rd."
